About
Welcome to Lievitamente Pizzeria, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Salzburg at Elisabethstraße 21a. This charming spot has quickly become a favorite for locals and travelers alike, challenging the notion of pizza in a city celebrated for its culture.
Stepping into Lievitamente, you are greeted with the irresistible aroma of freshly baked pizza, an experience that transports you straight to Italy. Each pie is crafted with care, showcasing a selection of ingredients that are nothing short of authentic. With their range of classic pizzas, from the ultra-spicy Diavola to the richly satisfying Bufala, every bite bursts with flavor. For those seeking a lighter option, the Vegetariana is a vibrant medley of bell peppers, zucchini, and eggplant, perfectly harmonized with Fior di latte cheese. These culinary creations are paired with a delightful offering of drinks, including local beers and refreshing soft drinks, all at reasonable prices.
But it’s not just the food that impresses. The atmosphere at Lievitamente is intimate and buzzing, with a sense of community that makes dining feel personal. Indulge in their Tiramisù Classico for dessert, a heavenly way to end your meal, rich with espresso and a light, creamy texture that's hard to resist. Reviewers like Ruxandra Ionela Berinde have hailed it as “the best mouthwatering pizza” they’ve tasted in years, while others appreciate the simple joy of watching skilled chefs work their magic behind the counter.
Whether you're seated at the bar or grabbing a takeaway after a day of exploration, the experience is always rewarding. Reviews from satisfied customers echo the sentiment that while space is limited, the quality of the food and friendliness of the service make every visit worth it. Indeed, Paul Biehl’s fondness for the fluffy Neapolitan-style base with delectable toppings confirms what many of us are starting to realize: Lievitamente Pizzeria is redefining what we know about pizza in Salzburg.
Next time you’re in the area, or simply looking to satisfy a craving for authentic Italian flavors, make your way to Lievitamente Pizzeria. You may just find it becomes your new favorite spot.
“ The best mouthwatering pizza I had in 3 years in Austria, I am happy that I choose this place to have lunch with my family. Grazie mille per la miglior pizza in Austria. ”
“ Excellent authentic Italian pizza. Was glad for the wholewheat dough (though it didn't taste as good as the regular... can't have it all I suppose). Space is extremely tight and you have to get your own drinks but I would still go back just for the pizza! ”
“ Small but fantastic pizzeria off the central station in Salzburg. We had a Margherita and An anduja and both were fantastic. It's well priced with pizzas between 9-17 euros and beer and other cold drinks under €5. Would highly recommend ”
“ We had pizza at Lievitamente yesterday, and got a spot at „the bar“. The place gets busy, especially with orders from Wolt and so on. The amount of pizzas going over the counter on a Friday night is impressive. We had the yellow submarine and a margarita with salciccia. Both were again, as the takeaway before, very tasty. I have to say again, that the toppings (including the tomato sauce) have a great taste! The salciccia particularly is always amazing. Service was friendly, drinks are self-service, and it’s super nice to observe the guys behind the counter making their thing. Takeaway: We had a pizza Margarita with Salciccia yesterday for takeaway. The Neapolitan style pizza was really fluffy, and the toppings were super delicious. Prices are good, and service is quite fast! Definitely a recommendation if you’re around! ”
“ A slice of Italy right in Salzburg! This pizza was delicious and hit the spot after touring the eagles nest and salt mines all day. We took several pizzas back to our hotel to enjoy, and they did not disappoint. Overall I would absolutely recommend! ”
“ Delicious!!! Ordered from Foodora and it arrived super quickly and warm. The Diavola pizza was excellent. ”
“ Awesome, authentic Italian pizzas This must be one of the best Pizzaria’s in Austria although I haven’t been to that many. However, my local Pizzaria was named the best gourmet Pizzaria in Denmark 2022 and these are almost on par with them. Please be aware that it is not possible to book a table so some wait can happen. But it’s totally worth it. Delicious crust and fillings on an absolute top level. ”
“ Was there a few months ago the last time and really enjoyed it. But now the pizzas got way more expensive (16€ for a pizza) and they do not serve oilive oil anymore. Was really good but now they reduced the quality for more money or more quantity... Also the Marinara is without garlic which is a shame IMO ”
